Without Speech

My dog is either dreaming or dying,
perhaps a little of both. She trembles
a little as her eyelids flutter. Every
so often a twitch of the legs. I watch.
Hardly seems enough to call the vet,
but last time I waited too long
caught in my own convenience.
Today may not be different. Stuck
at home on a snow day wondering.
